The Healer

"The World nourishes bodies, the spirit nourishes souls."
-Hermes Trismegistus
Hand-frabricated in sterling silver, this statement ring features a genuine toadstone (Bufonite) set against black with the Rod of Asclepius rising above it. A delicate white opal sits at the tip and is complete with a hammered ring-band.
"Toadstones were thought to be found in the head of a toad. It was supposed to be an antidote to poison and in this it is like batrachite, supposedly formed in the heads of frogs. Toadstones were actually the button-like fossilized teeth of Lepidotes, an extinct genus of ray-finned fish from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. They appeared to be "stones that are perfect in form" and were set by European jewellers into magical rings and amulets from Medieval times until the 18th century."
Asclepius is the Greek God of medicine and his symbol is the rod with a serpent coiled around it symbolizing healing and good health. In these strange times, we could all use a little healing in different ways, and this ring was inspired by our current times and the chaos surrounding the pandemic.
To wear this ring is to invite all forms of good health and healing to an individual, a reminder to stay strong, be vigilant and always continue to strive towards the highest of life.
